Isle of Harris Distillers
Isle of Harris Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Full of island character and crafted for enjoyment, Isle of Harris Single Malt Whisky is an accessible single malt appealing to those who love a complex, easy drinking and delicious everyday dram. Woven from people and place, every drop their whisky is made, matured and married on the island by a team of young local distillers and blenders, trained from scratch. Everything is done by hand, eye, and nose to create our ideal flavour characteristics.
Isle of Harris Single Malt Whisky is distilled at our distillery in the small village of Tarbert and matured in the highest quality ex-Bourbon and ex-Oloroso sherry casks. The whisky is matured exclusively in the shoreline warehouses of Ardhasaig overlooking the Atlantic and just a few short miles from the distillery. With the island’s high humidity and low temperature fluctuation, it’s one of the most unique maturation environments in the world. Our whisky is produced using local water which flows over 3-billion-year-old Gneiss rocks, resulting in the softest source waters in Scotland.
Tasting Notes:
On the nose, there’s an immediate warmth: butterscotch and iced cherry Bakewell tart, like a pastry shop on a cold morning. As it opens, brighter fruit and delicate floral notes appear, with a gentle hint of spice. The palate brings rich, buttery caramels and sweet clove and ginger, balanced by the dry, flinty character that’s so typical of Isle of Harris spirit. The finish is long and creamy, with a soft echo of Outer Hebridean peat smoke.
