Torabhaig Single Malt Scotch Whisky. Cnoc Na Moine, Gaelic for hill of peat), the third release in the Legacy Series, bottled at 46% without colouring or chill filtration.
This is the third expression of Torabhaig Single Malt. The Legacy Series’, bottled in small batches drawn from no more than 30 casks each. Cnoc Na Moine is aged in American Oak, Oloroso, Pedro Ximenez and Bourbon casks.
Heavily Peated made with concerto malted barley with an in grain phenols content of 78.4 ppm.
Official Tasting Notes
Nose – Slightly subdued peat smoke backed by hints of orange peel, tangy fruit, and a whiff of dying embers. A touch of vanilla sweetness, and some freshly sawn oaky spice
Palate – Peat returns on the palate with more of a BBQ note, before the spirit brings in some pepper, a light balsamic acidity and more sweetness and gentle spice. Fragrant touches of cedar and leather, with the sherry casks adding some depth
Finish – The sherry influences are a wonderful light touch, showing themselves in harmonious balance with Torabhaig’s integrated peat and spice structure which shines through
