Ardnamurchan Midgie
Ardnamurchan AD/ Midgie
If you've ever been to Scotland, or even watched people on telly who are in Scotland, or just heard people talk about their trips to Scotland, you might be familiar with the infamous creature the Highland Midge. This single malt from Ardnamurchan honours that notorious insect in this wild collaboration with insect repellent brand Smidge! This single malt brings together a combo of 60% peated and 40% unpeated spirit drawn from 13 bourbon barrels, a sherry butt, five sauternes barriques, and five Madeira barriques.
Tasting Note
Nose Candied ginger and cinnamon snaps are joined by floral, honeyed notes of baklava and sweet, zesty citrus peels while chimney smoke drifts in the distance.
Palate Herbaceous malt, creamy custard, cake batter and fruity boiled sweeties are backed by grilled stone fruits and charcoal.
Finish Briny smoke, sweet cooked fruits, ginger and peppercorn heat.
