Here we have the Cardhu 14 year old single malt Scotch whisky, from Diageo’s 2021 Special Releases. This expression was aged in refill American oak casks, then transferred to red wine casks for finishing. This has given the typical Cardhu taste an addition of red fruit spice and sweetness. Bottled at 55.5% ABV.   The theme for the Special Releases this time was ‘Legends Untold’, inspired by stories real and imagined around each distillery and as such, this one features the mysterious tree with red blossoms near the distillery, which according to legends emits pleasant and enticing aromas of honey and spices.
